It’s pretty much the blueprint for the whole romantic comedy genre.
“It Happened One Night” stars Clark Gable as an out-of-work reporter who falls in love with a runaway heiress (Claudette Colbert) during a rural bus trip. Yes, it was released in 1934, but it hasn’t aged a bit over the years.
How good is it? Well, Frank Capra’s “It Happened One Night” was the first film to ever win all five major Academy Awards – Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Screenplay.
You’ll have the chance to see “It Happened One Night” on the big screen at the Palace Theatre in Albany at 7pm on Monday. Tix are $5; children 14 and under $3.
BUT WAIT… What’s this? A FREE pair of tickets? That’s right, we’re giving away FREE TIX to a lucky Nippertown reader! To enter the contest, just post a comment below. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. The winners will be selected at random and notified on Monday. Good luck!
