TALK: Paola Antonelli @ EMPAC at RPI, Troy. The curator for architecture and design at MoMA offers a lecture titled, “Talk to Me: The Communication Between People and Objects.” 6pm. FREE.

MUSIC: The Hearing Aides @ the Moon & River Cafe, Schenectady. Brian Patrik leads his rock trio in a preview of the band’s upcoming debut album. 8pm. FREE.

READING: Elijah Anderson @ Albany Public Library, Albany. The urban sociologist and author reads from his latest book, “The Cosmopolitan Canopy: Race and Civility in Everyday Life,” an exploration of public spaces – libraries, workplaces, stores, etc. – where racial and ethnic tensions seem to disappear. 7:30pm.
