MUSIC: Spottiswoode & His Enemies @ Club Helsinki Hudson, Hudson. They were the first band to play at the Hudson Helsinki nearly a year ago, and now they’re headed back to celebrate the release of their new album, “Wild Goosechase Expedition,” on Old Soul Records. Highly recommended. 9pm. $15.

MUSIC: Steve Tyrell @ the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. Swinging and crooning, the jazz and pop singer and his big band tackle the Great American Songbook of standards. 8pm. $28, $32 and $37.

MUSIC: Hendrik Meurkins & Bob DeVos @ Flights of Fantasy, Colonie. Jazz guitarist DeVos joins jazz harmonicat extraordinaire Meurkins for an intimate duo performance. With special guest Yuko Kishimoto. 8pm. $10.

READINGS/WORKSHOPS: The Empire State Book Festival @ the Empire State Plaza Meeting Rooms 1-6, Albany. Discussions, workshops, readings, including a keynote speech by Rosanne Cash at 3:45pm. 10am-4:30pm. FREE.

MUSIC: The David Bromberg Big Band @ The Egg, Albany. A smashing double bill with two great veteran sidemen who has become stars in their own rights. With Al Kooper & the Funky Faculty. 7:30pm. $34.50, $39.50.

MUSIC: Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder @ the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, Great Barrington. The mandolin master invades the Mahaiwe. 8pm. $45, $60.

ROLLER DERBY: The Albany All Stars vs. Central New York Roller Derby @ Washington Avenue Armory, Albany. It’s a double-header! Not just the gals, but guys, too, as the Capital District Trauma Authority makes its debut against the Utica Quadfathers. With music by Slick Fitty. 6pm. $10 in advance; $12 at the door; children under 12 $4.

MUSIC: Consider the Source @ Red Square, Albany. The New York City-based trio – featuring Gabriel Marin on fretless double-neck guitar, John Ferrara on bass, and Justin Ahiyon on drums – describes their sound as “Sci-Fi Middle Eastern Funk.” With the Israeli visual arts rock band Eatliz opening the show. 9pm. $10 in advance; $12 at the door.

MUSIC: Sixties Spectacular @ Proctors, Schenectady. It’s flashback time with Johnny Rivers (“Secret Agent Man,” “Poor Side of Town”), Gary Puckett (“Young Girl,” “Woman, Woman”) and the Association (“Windy,” “Cherish”), along with Gene Pitney tribute artist Tony Lee. 7:30pm. $34.75, $42.75, $49.75.

CRAFT SHOW: Spring Craft Show @ the Woman’s Club, Albany. The fourth annual craft fair showcases handmade work by such local artists and craftspeople as Nancy Miller, Sugi Pickard, Teresa Berger, Ben Karis-Nix, Ali Herrmann, John Visser, Meredith Butler and more. 11am-5pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Phil Teumim @ B’nai Sholom Reform Congregation, Albany.
