Here’s a Concert We Never Thought We’d See at SPAC…

Would you believe… the New York Dolls?

That’s right, David Johansen and the Dolls will be rumbling into the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Saturday, July 23.

Of course, there’s a hitch – the Dolls will be opening the show for the co-headliners Poison and Motley Crue.

And, oh yeah, the tour is tentatively titled Glam-A-Gedden 25.

More details to come…

also of interest: Frank Infante of Blondie and Iggy Pop bands is now the guitarist.

I’ve seen the Dolls a lot the last few years, and they are fantastic live. I’m looking forward to seeing this line-up — although Infante is on the album, I understand Earl Slick is on the tour. I’ll be seeing them in a couple of weeks at the Bowery Ballroom!

I’m wondering how many walk-outs there’ll be after the Dolls play, even at SPAC prices. I might hang on just to check Motley off my “Seen Them” list (I was living in LA when they were burning up the club scene out there), but there’s not enough money in the world to make me watch a Poison show.
