Hot chili and red hot music are the two key ingredients of the 20th annual Bands ‘n Beans party at Roaring Brook Ranch in Lake George from 2-7pm on Sunday, March 6. One of the biggest spring parties of the spring, Bands ‘n Beans is a benefit for the Lake George Arts Project, and proceeds will go to help fund the Lake George Jazz Weekend, the Summer Concert Series in Shepard Park and art exhibitions at the Courthouse Gallery.
Over 40 restaurants and individual chefs will compete in a chili-tasting contest. Each of the 1000 or so expected attendees will be able to vote for their favorite chili in both the restaurant and individual chef categories. Bentley’s Restaurant of Malta will be defending its 2010 Best Chili title against some formidable new entries, including the Black Watch Steakhouse, Wholy Crepe, Bar Vino, West Side Grill, and more.
The bash also features a non-stop parade of great local music, who will be performing on two different stages. Among the many bands slated to perform are Folding Sky, Chris Ballini, Rich Ortiz, Tequila Mockingbirds, Jim Gaudet & the Railroad Boys, the Stony Creek Band, Rat Tail Jimmy, the Electric City Horns and more.
Admission is $20, and tickets will be available at the door.
