It’s the Weekend!

I'd LOVE to help you shovel, but I don't have thumbs.

No, really, I'd LOVE to help you shovel, but I don't have thumbs.

No, spring isn’t here yet… quite obviously. But Live Nation did announce the first pop show of SPAC’s 2011 summer season this week, so eventually things are going to start warming up. Right?

Thanks to everybody who dropped by this week. Thanks for your encouragement, your support and, yes, your criticism, too. And thanks for helping to spread the word about, your first and best source for the latest local arts & entertainment info. Or just a dose of amusement (Did you see the Muppets cover LCD Soundsystem yet?) continues to be a totally independent, hands-on, mom & pop site, but we couldn’t possibly cover the wide, wonderful scope of offerings around town without a dedicated and devoted bunch of wonderful writers, photographers, artists and other assorted enablers who continually enrich us all with their contributions. So a big salute goes out to this week’s community contributors:

Tim Livingston
Janet Kwiatkowski
Fred Rudofsky
Ed Conway
Matt Mac Haffie
Rudy Lu

We’d love to see your name here next week, wouldn’t you? Please consider joining the team by sending us something – a review, preview, interview, photo, list, rant, crayon drawing or whatever’s on your mind. Remember, Nippertown is your hometown, and we can’t possibly do this without your help.

Thanks to all of the folks who were gracious enough to provide us with review tickets and/or photo passes for their events:

The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy
Club Helsinki Hudson, Hudson
Guthrie/Bell Productions, Albany
Jillian’s, Albany
The Iron Horse Entertainment Group, Northampton
EMPAC at RPI, Troy
The Dance Flurry Festival, Saratoga Springs
Live Nation, Saratoga Springs
The Palace Theatre, Albany
The College of Saint Rose’s Massry Center, Albany
Northern Lights, Clifton Park
Step Up Presents, Clifton Park
Proctors, Schenectady

Thanks for keeping Nippertown alive… and lively.

  1. Eggman says:

Any updates on tonight’s shows? Is the Railbird Rowe show still on?

  2. Greg says:

Eggman – Yes, as Railbird tweeted about an hour ago: “The show is still on for tonite! Despite the snow. Only the strong will survive. Please bring your own booze. Thanks!”

  3. Alan G. says:

Your dog looks absolutely stoic, glaring at you in the midst of another heavy snowfall. Great shot!

  4. Sara says:

Thanks, Alan. At the moment the photo was taken, she really wanted to be zooming around in the snow instead of sitting and posing. She was a little annoyed with me.
