So, What Are You Doing June 25-26?

With today’s announcement of the Freihofer Jazz Festival’s line-up of performers at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, that last weekend in June is really heating up.

The Old Songs Festival of Traditional Music and Dance takes place that same weekend at the Altamont Fairgrounds, and the Old Songs folks have released a partial list of performers.

The Beacon Riverfest is also slated to take place at Riverfront Park in Beacon on Saturday, June 25. There hasn’t been an announcement regarding this year’s performers yet, but last year’s inaugural fest was a wild affair featuring folks like Tracy Bonham and the no-holds-barred, garage-rockin’ gods the Fleshtones. The Beacon Riverfest has another advantage, too. It’s free.

And then, of course, we’re still waiting to hear what the boys in Wilco have up their collective sleeve for the second annual Solid Sound Festival at MASS MoCA in North Adams. That fest is taking place – that’s right, you guessed it – that very same weekend, too.

Oh yeah, Earth, Wind & Fire will also be bringing their 40th anniversary tour to Tanglewood in Lenox on Saturday, June 25.

Decisions, decisions, decisions…

ALSO, there’s a thing at Stratton Mountain –>

Andrew Bird, Sonya Kitchell, Franti, etc.

What an unfortunately spread-thin weekend for fans of music!
