MUSIC: The Ernie Williams Band @ The Linda, Albany. Lo and behold, Albany’s Ambassador of the Blues celebrates with his 86th birthday party. 8pm. $18.

WORKSHOP: “Sound for the Theater” @ Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Averill Park. Theater arts technician Joel Lord offers a four-hour workshop on creating a sound design for theater works. 10am. $25.

MUSIC: The Angel Band @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Old-school country and a bit of bluegrass from the terrific trio of gals. With Andrea Ramolo opening the show.8pm. $18 in advance; $20 at the door.

COMEDY: Rory Scovel @ MASS MoCA, North Adams. Rory Scovel does funny things. He often talks about them, too. Sometimes he does this in front of people, who may or may not pay money to hear them. 8pm. $12 in advance; $16 at the door; students $10.

MUSIC: Suede @ the Eighth Step at Proctors, Schenectady. Singer-songwriter Suede brings her jazz sounds to the folk music haven. 7:30pm. $23 in advance; $26 at the door; VIP seating $50.

MOTORCYCLE SHOW: Pre Daytona Boogie Motorcycle Show @ the Washington Avenue Armory, Albany. Vendors, swap meet, tattoo contest and music by Jimmy Eppard & the Retro Rockets. 11am-5pm. $12; $15 and under free.

MUSIC: The Erotics @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. Mike Trash and the rest of Nippertown’s premier glam-punkers celebrate their 15th anniversary. With Blase Debris, the Dirty Stayouts and Society High. 8pm.

MUSIC: The Singing Anchors @ Steamer No. 10 Theatre, Albany. Benita Zahn and Jessica Layton of WNYT-TV team up with Jerry Gretzinger of WRGB-TV to harmonize for the benefit of the theater. Accompanied by Jay Kerr. 8pm. $25. UPDATE: Show postponed due to snow.

DANCE: TAKE Dance @ UAlbany’s Performing Arts Center, Albany. A native of Japan, a Juilliard graduate and a former Paul Taylor company dancer, Takehiro “Take” Ueyama forges a distinctive style that blends eastern and western sensibilities. 8pm. $18; seniors $15; students $12.

MUSIC: WGNA Winter Carnival @ Proctors, Schenectady. Country music songsmiths Joe Nichols, Darryl Worley and Craig Campbell bring a red-hot Nashville breeze to Nippertown. 7:30pm. $28, $33.

ROLLER DERBY: The Hellions of Troy @ Rollarama Skating Center, Schenectady. Troy’s own hellcats on wheels take on the Oz Rollergirls of Oswego. 8pm. $10 in adavnce; $12 at the door; kids under 12 $3.

MUSIC: Yarn @ Putnam Den, Saratoga Springs. Class country-rock and more. The Steven L. Smith Band opens the show. Doors at 8pm. $10.

MUSIC: Tribute to Bob Marley @ the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. The 27th annual Woodstock tribute to the reggae master features Crucial Massive, Songs of Solomon, Squeeky Plus and Jamaica’s Starcade. 8pm. $15 in advance; $20 at the door. UPDATE: This concert has been postponed due to the weather. It has been re-scheduled for Saturday, March 26.
