MUSIC: Joanna Smith @ Proctors, Schenectady. The first of the 2011 WGNA-FM Rising Star Concert Series features the country singer-songwriter Smith, who stirred up some action last year with her debut single “Gettin’ Married.” 7:30pm. $17.

THEATER ON FILM: “Fela!” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. The Tony Award-winning musical comes direct from the National Theatre of London with Sahr Ngaujah in the title role. 7pm. $22; under 12 $15. (Also at Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, Great Barrington at 2pm. $23, $24; under 13 $18)

MUSIC: The Al Haugen Trio @ the Stockade Inn, Schenectady. Jazz accordion. 7pm. FREE.
