Name Lark Street’s Little Birdie

The Lark Street BirdIn Albany, Lark Street’s Business Improvement District is conducting an online voting competition to choose a name for the cute little baby blue birdie that has become the mascot of Lark St. BID events, including LarkFest and Art on Lark.

Apparently, the BID received nearly 70 different suggestions for names when the initial call went out, but the powers-that-be narrowed it down to four finalists:

Arthur (Art for short)
Joan of Lark
Petula Lark
Sir Larksalot

The voting began on Monday, January 3, and so far about 250 votes have been cast online. When we last checked in Sir Larksalot was way ahead in the polling with more than 50 percent of the votes.

You can weigh in with your opinion by voting at the BID’s blog. But hurry, voting ends on Friday…
