12/22/10: Today’s Tips: Wednesday

MUSIC: Tristan Allen @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. The sleeper show of the month. Tristan Allen got his musical start a few years back at the Caffe’s open mic nights. Now the 17-year-old pianist-composer is back to celebrate the release of his debut CD – which he recorded with Amanda Palmer of the Desden Dolls. 7pm. $5.

MUSIC: Kevin McKrell’s Christmas Show @ the Parting Glass, Saratoga Springs. 7pm. $10.

MUSIC: Capital Underground Live @ Savannah’s, Albany. With three bands like Maggot Brain, Dryheave and Tyranize, don’t expect a cheery little feel-good Christmas show… 8pm. FREE.

ARTIST TOUR: Celebrate Jerry Pinkney’s birthday @ The Norman Rockwell Museum, Stockbridge. The artist will lead a special tour of his exhibition, “Witness.” There will also be a book signing, holiday fun for the children and, most importantly, there will be birthday cake.
