MUSIC: Sean Rowe @ Club Helsinki Hudson, Hudson. Yes, the soulful singer-songwriter is the Next Big Thing to come out of the Nippertown music scene, as his album, “Magic,” is slated to be re-released on Anti- Records in February. LECTURE/DISCUSSION: Jazz/Latino Salon: What is Latin Jazz? @ The Pine Hills Public Library, Albany. Dr. José E. Cruz hosts this program which combines spoken word, recorded music, music demonstration and video to explore the contributions that Latino musicians have made to the development of Latin jazz as well as jazz in general. 6pm. FREE.

COMEDY/MUSIC: Monday Night Madness @ the Villa Valenti Pub, Troy. Hosted by Ralph Renna of Capital Underground Live, the weekly showcase of stand-up comics and acoustic musicians this week features Bryan Burgess and Kristen Abrams. 7pm. FREE.
