Signs of the City: Fat Ass Pizza, Berlin

Bill Dhalle snapped this sign of a NYC style pizzeria in the Prenzlauer Berg district of Berlin (the German city, not the Rensselaer county town) last week, noting that “with a name like Fat Ass, it’s got to be good!”

I had great pizza in that neighborhood. Wish I could remember the name of the place. Prenzlauer Berg is like Berlin’s Park Slope, but with much cheaper rents.

I love the Prenzl’berg area myself, but the best pizza I’ve had in Berlin (or anywhere else for that matter) is at 12 Apostle in Charlottenburg. I still want to try Fat Ass, though but I always seem to walk by there in the morning before they are open. With a name like that, it’s just beggin’ to be tried! :-)

Berlin as a hotbed for pizza. Who knew?

  4. Bill D. says:

Berlin is a hotbed for EVERYTHING…especially food. :-)
