11/28/10: Today’s Tips: Sunday

BOOK FAIR: 36th Annual Antiquarian Book & Ephemera Fair @ Washington Avenue Armory, Albany. 60 dealers selling antiquarian & out-of-print books, manuscripts, autographs, postcards, maps, posters, photographs and ephemera. 10am-4pm. $6.

MUSIC: Jules Shear @ Upstate Films, Woodstock. The Music at the Movies concert series showcases a live performance by sinfully under-rated singer-songwriter Jules Shear. In addition to his extensive solo albums, he was a member of the pioneering country-rock band the Funky Kings and the new wave-ish Jules & the Polar Bears. He’s recorded duets with Patty Griffin, Carole King, Rosanne Cash, Paula Cole and Margot Timmins. And he’s penned such hits as “All Through the Night” (Cyndi Lauper), “Whispering Your Name” (Alison Moyet) and “If She Knew What She Wants” (the Bangles). 8:30pm. $11.
