Jillian’s in Albany is amping up 2011 with a couple of newly announced shows: Barefoot Truth at 8pm on January 22 ($10 in advance; $12 at the door) and Donna the Buffalo at 8pm on February 10 ($17 in advance; $20 at the door).

Looking waaaay ahead to springtime, The Egg in Albany has booked veteran Canadian singer-songwriter Bruce Cockburn for a concert at 7:30pm on Saturday, May 7. Violinist-singer-songwriter Jenny Scheinman opens the show. Priced at $24.50, $29.50 and $34.50, tix will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, November 16.

Down in Hudson, Club Helsinki Hudson keeps the concerts coming with two brand new additions: Popa Chubby at 9pm on Friday, November 26 ($15) and Iris DeMent at 8pm on Sunday, January 30 ($38).

The Linda in Albany has a batch of new shows on their December calendar, including Erin McKeown at 8pm on Thursday, December 2 ($20); the West Point Jazz Knights at 7pm on Wednesday, December 15 (Free); Kevin McKrell’s Christmas Show (featuring Brian Melick) at 8pm on Saturday, December 18 ($15); and Mike Doughty at 8pm on Thursday, December 30 ($22).

Citizen Cope serves up a solo acoustic performance at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock at 9pm on Saturday, January 22. Tix are $35 for reserved seats; $25 for general admission.

John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will be doing some picking and storytelling at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs at 7pm on Sunday, December 12.

Led by former Chiodos lead singer Craig Owens, D.R.U.G.S. makes a stop at Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany at 7pm on Friday, December 17. Eyes Set to Kill and New Medicine open the show. Priced at $10, advance tix go on sale at 10am on Friday.

POSTPONED: The performance of Tommy Tune’s “Steps In Time: A Broadway Biography in Song and Dance” featuring the Manhattan Rhythm Kings, which was slated to take place at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield on Friday evening, has been postponed. No new date has been announced yet.

The Jingle Jam ’10 party takes over the Times Union Center in Albany at 7pm on Monday, December 6. Featured performers include Jesse MaCartney, Jay Sean, Train, Cody Simpson, Emily Osment and Robyn. Tix are $37, $47, $49.

The Pat Travers Band roars into the Fuller Roadhouse Grille in Colonie at 7pm on Saturday, December 18. Joe Roy Jackson and the John Morse Band open the show.

The Joey Thomas Big Band returns to The Egg in Albany to serve up a special holiday show, “Christmas Sinatra Style,” at 2pm on Saturday, December 11. Joining the band will be vocalists Bob Father and Mia Scirocco. Tix are $35; seniors, veterans and students $31.50.

SOLD OUT: Sunday’s Waken Baken tour stop (featuring Wiz Khalifa and Big K.R.I.T.) at Northern Lights in Clifton Park is officially sold out… And all of the tickets are apparently gone for the acoustic Shinedown concert at The Egg in Albany at 8pm Monday, too.
