Roots Rockin’ Dinosaur BBQ Stomps into Troy

The wait is almost over.

The new Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Troy will officially open its doors on Wednesday, November 10.

And in addition to serving up their renowned food, Dinosaur BBQ isn’t wasting any time in filling the place up with the sounds of good ‘n’ greasy, down-home, roots-rockin’ music, either.

Post continues below...

The very next night, Thursday, November 11, veteran roadhouse-rockin’, honky-tonkin’, boogie woogie piano-poundin’ Commander Cody and his band will christen the stage and rattle the rafters.

And Dinosaur BBQ plans to continue to serve up a variety of roots-rockin’ bands three nights a week – Thursday through Saturday.

Here’s Dino’s live music schedule for November:

Thursday, November 11: The Commander Cody Band
Friday, November 12: The Ernie Williams Band
Saturday, November 13: Super 400
Thursday, November 18: The Lustre Kings

Dinosaur BBQ is going to rock our area… and it’s all going to be GREAT!!

  2. Andy M. says:

I can already taste the lip-smackin’ goodness. Can’t wait!

  3. Hope to see a bunch of people there on the 20th! And I hope they’ve got insurance on the new roof because we’re going to tear it off.

  4. LP says:

Ah yes….Dino’s has finally arrived. Great Q…Live Tunes and a River View.

  5. Scott C. says:

I’m a longtime fan of the original Syracuse Dinosaur BBQ, and have eaten at the Rochester location, too. As you can see from the schedule listed, they try hard to support the local music scene at each of their locations. I got a preview at this year’s Troy Pig Out as Dino owner John Stage himself served good-sized samples of his marinated skirt steak hot off the grill. Welcome to Troy, Dinosaur, but keep your hands off our mini hot dogs!

  6. Welf says:

    These shows free?

  7. Sara says:

    Yes, they’re free.

  8. Loren Guilds says:

What time does the music start on Thursday? Longtime fan of the Commander Cody Band (AND FOOD!)!!

  9. Rosemary Brennan says:

Hope to be there for Thursdays show with CC! Looking very much forward to this new music venue in “downtown” on the River! Oh Yeahhhhhh!

  10. Andy M. says:

At the Syracuse location the music has always started between 9 and 10, but that’s partially because they had to clear tables from the stage (very small room). If this new location is anything like Rochester they’ll have a separate full size stage for the band that doesn’t interfere with dining, which could also mean an earlier start time.

  11. Matt Mac Haffie says:

    9-ish for Commader Cody

The definitive answer is that the target start Time is 9pm on Thursdays and 10pm on Fri -Sat.
Oh and yes we still have to wait out the diners because their are three tables on the stage in Troy

I say that from the perspective of being the Entertainment Manager of the Troy location.

  12. John Chiara says:

Is there a sound system installed?
