Yes, Nippertown alum the Figgs are returning for their annual holiday homecoming stand once again.
On Friday, December 10, they’ll churn out their post-punk power-pop sound with a show at Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany. The next night, Saturday, December 11, they’ll head up the Northway and do it all over again at Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs.
This time around, the boys have got a special treat in store for fans, too. In celebration of the tenth anniversary of the release of their album, “Sucking in Stereo” (officially released on October 10, 2000), the Figgs will be playing the entire album in order on both nights.
Not only that, but the fine folks at Peterwalkee Records are releasing a special edition, newly remastered vinyl edition of “Sucking in Stereo” as well – on Friday, December 10. There will also be an online pre-sale, which starts on Friday, November 19 and ends on Sunday, November 28. The pre-sale version will be pressed in a limited edition on colored vinyl and will also include pins, posters and other goodies. All copies will include a free download of a live version of the complete LP that was recorded during the Figgs 2000-2001 tour.
But wait, there’s still more. Just in time to stuff the Christmas stockings of your fave Figgs fan, the band makes its first-ever DVD appearance. Graham Parker & the Figgs’ “Live at the FTC” is a 21-song concert filmed on April 23, 2010, in Fairfield, Connecticut at FTC’s StageOne. The DVD/CD set is slated for release from Image Entertainment on Tuesday, December 7.
