Song of the Week: Ghoul Poon’s “Botanica”

Yes, we’ve featured Saratoga Springs’ enigmatic musical mavericks Ghoul Poon before (check it out here), but we can’t get enough of their lo-fi, DIY, industrial-psychedelic dirges. So here’s “Botanica” from Ghoul Poon’s recent DVD release, “100 Psychic Dreams”:

The song is also included on their new album, “Bastard Sorcerer,” which is available as a free download for a limited time from Lofi Kabuki Records.

And if that’s not enough, you can catch Ghoul Poon in action live at Northern Lights in Clifton Park at 8pm on Thursday, when they share the stage with the Dan Deacon Ensemble and Lightning Bolt. Tix are $12 in advance; $15 at the door.
