It’s big benefit bash showcasing some of Nippertown’s finest homegrown talent.
The Egg in Albany will be rocking to a variety of sounds on Saturday night, as a parade of local bands and musicians commands the stage for the Capital Area Indie Fest, a benefit concert for the Columbia Arts Team’s youth sponsorships and performing arts programs.
Among the performers are:
A reunion of John Powhida & the Staziaks
Sandy McKnight & Tastes Like Chicken
The fest is also something of a CD release party for Sandy McKnight, who has just released “How I Changed the World,” a whopping 3-CD, 66-song career retrospective of the veteran indie pop-rocker. The set features performances by the Ragamuffins of Love, Liv Cummins, the Truants, Joni Klein Higger, the Expendables, Numbers and Jonathan Edwards, in addition to McKnight’s solo work.
Showtime is 7:30pm on Saturday, and admission is $20.
