Festival Fever: Capital Region Apple & Wine Festival @ Altamont Fairgrounds, 9/18-19/10

Capital Region Apple And Wine FestivalApples and wine? Sure sounds good to us…

The Altamont Fairgrounds hosts the annual Capital Region Apple & Wine Festival this weekend, and if you’re not already in the mood for autumn, this oughta do the trick.

The rain-or-shine fest runs from 9am-6pm on Saturday and from 10am-5pm on Sunday.

There’s a juried craft show featuring the works of 100 artists and craftpersons, wine lectures, plenty of food vendors, a quilt show, cooking demonstrations, wine lectures, a classic car and motorcycle exhibit, lots of children’s activities and, of course, wine tasting.

And, yes, there’s music, too. There will be old-time fiddle and banjo music from 1-3pm both days, and the Doc Scanlon Trio jazzes up the fest from 2-5pm on Saturday and from 1-4pm on Sunday. In addition, Matt Evans entertains from 11am-2pm on Saturday, while the Pat Attanasio Quartet performs from 11am-1pm on Sunday.

Admission is $8 at the gate; children under 15 are admitted free.
