Sunday Benefits

Apparently, Sunday has been dubbed “Good Music for a Good Cause Day.”

First up is “Rockin’ Horses,” the multi-band fundraiser for Equine Advocates that’s taking place from 1-8pm Sunday at the Parting Glass in Saratoga Springs. (More info) Tix are just $5 in adavance; $10 at the door.

Then at 4pm at the Van Dyck in Schenectady, Latin jazz great Bobby Sanabria slips behind the drums with his band Quarteto Ache to play a fundraiser for the Underground Railroad History Project of the Capital Region. Tix are $55.

And finally, the fab father-and-son jazz guitar duo of Bucky & John Pizzarelli take to the stage at The Linda in Albany at 6pm Sunday for a special performance to benefit public radio radio station WAMC-FM. Tix are $100.

Three benefit concerts. Three different cities. Three different causes. Three different styles of music. Three different price ranges.

Put ’em all together, and it adds up to one great day.
