It’s difficult to keep up with the constantly shifting gallery scene in Hudson without a program.
In the latest version of the Gallery Name Game, the Deffebach Gallery at 135 Warren Street officially changed its name to Gallery 135 as of last Saturday.
We stopped by the open house in celebration of the name change, and we were quite impressed with the current upstairs exhibition of Patrick Keesey’s “Traces and Accumulations: Drawings 2009-2010.” They are small, playful, unassuming colored-ink markings, but we found a surprising depth to the work.
Also on exhibit at Gallery 135 is Dawn Breeze’s “Finding Joy: Paintings 2009-2010.” Primarily a collection of recent abstract landscapes, the real showstopper of her exhibit is the installation, “Shrine of Summer Shells,” an intoxicating collection of brightly colored clothing and seashells that are cascading out of a chest of drawers.
Both exhibits remain on view at Gallery 135 in Hudson in through Saturday. For more information, email gallery firstname.lastname@example.org or call 518.828.2535. Hours are 1-6pm on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays & Mondays; 1-7pm on Saturdays.
