MUSIC: Jackson Browne @ the Palace Theatre, Albany. This time around the veteran singer-songwriter and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer is not only bringing along his longtime band, but also his old sidekick the delightful warped and talented multi-instrumentalist David Lindley. 7:30pm. $60, $70, $80.
TALK: Dan Wilcox @ Albany Public Library, Albany. Wilcox serves up his review of Bill Morgan’s book, “The Typewriter is Holy: The Complete Uncensored History of the Beat Generation.” Free coffee and cookies, too. 12noon. FREE.
MUSIC: Hank Williams III & the Damn Band @ Northern Lights, Clifton Park. Yup, he’s doing double-duty again. Ornery Nashville hellbilly Hank III tears into town in support of his latest album, “Devil Within,” which features such self-explanatory, whiskey-soaked songs as “Getting’ Drunk And Fallin’ Down,” “Drinkin’ Ain’t Hard to Do” and “Drinkin’ Over Mama.” Also on the bill is Assjack – also led by Hank III, but showcasing the crazed metal-industrial-punk side of his mutant musical mind. 8pm. $18.
MUSIC: Anal Warhead @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. Yes, the German punk combo Civil Victim is really headlining the show, but how can compete with a name like Anal Warhead? How can you not love them? It just makes us all warm and fuzzy inside. We think they might be a Debby Boone tribute band, but we’re not sure… Also on the bill are Pointblank and the Wessels. 8pm.
