8/30/10: Today’s Tips: Monday

MUSIC: Blueberry @ Club Helsinki Hudson, Hudson. Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Gwen Snyder (of the band Johnny Society) is Blueberry. She makes music that’s sultry, psychedelic and soulful. Her self-tilted album was issued on Sundazed Music’s Euphoria! imprint in 2008, and she’s about to drop a new one, “Tempest in a Teacup.” 8pm. FREE.

BURLESQUE: Bing Bamboo Room Burlesque @ Savannah’s, Albany. Your ever so cordial host and emcee Mr. Guy Smiley welcomes an array of dancers and vaudeville acts including the Lady Amanda, Maxine de la Obscene, Primalmatic Pryroaddicts, Mark Brennan, Lilly Allure, Isabel and the ever popular Baby Dead Girl. 8 & 10pm. $8.

MUSIC: The Stony Creek Band @ Veterans Memorial Field, Athol. With John Strong and Hank Soto at the helm, it seems as though the Stony Creek Band has been around – well, as long as the Stony Creek. It’s Adirondack music, so it rolls more than it rocks, but these boys can kick out the jams when they need to. 7pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Strawberry Fields @ Siro’s, Saratoga Springs. With the 70th anniversary of the birth of John Lennon rolling around on the calendar in October, it seems like a dozen or so Beatles tribute acts will be parading through Nippertown. This is one of them. 6pm.
