Yolk Reunites

YolkThat’s right. Jam band faves Yolk are playing a reunion show on Saturday (August 28) at the Belmar in Binghamton.

(Yes, we know that Binghamton is a bit far afield for Nippertowners, but Yolk was very popular here during their heyday, and we thought you just might want to know. Besides, it’s not that far.)

Not just a reunion of the band’s final line-up, this is looking like a real extravaganza featuring – as the poster puts it – “everyone who played in Yolk, ever.”

Among the parade of musicians participating are Jim Loughlin, Jimmyjohn McCabe, Jim Lomonaco, Jeff Pettit, Matt Murphy, Drew Bellavia, Peter Carvelas, Dave Fitzhugh, Adam Ash, Brian Burrell, Cris Noel and more.

It’s not just Yolk, either. It’s a seven-hour festival featuring like-minded bands and other musical projects headed up by members of Yolk.

Here’s the line-up:
3pm: Dr. E.F. & the Rudimentary of Sound
4pm: The Jimmyjohn McCabe Band
5pm: Swath
6pm: Small Targets
7-10pm: Yolk

Priced at $21.47, tix are available here.

Yolk was such a fun band. Unforgettable nights at Valentine’s in the mid-late 90s. They were somehow able to surf above the jam band scene, but somehow still fit with genre melding, mind expanding moments.
