When it was announced late last week that Sunday’s FLY92 SummerJam at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center would be short one headliner, the radio station’s fans didn’t even blink. They were coming no matter what. And they did – in the thousands.

Though OneRepublic dropped off the bill, stellar rockers Boys Like Girls were bumped up to the headline spot to close out SummerJam. And they did that without any problem by delivering an animated and scorching high-energy set that would make the Stones’ Mick Jagger or Stone Temple Pilots’ Scott Weiland proud.

Earlier in the afternoon, rap elder statesmen Tone Loc delivered a burning set, followed by a passionate soft-rocking eight-song performance by Natasha Bedingfield.

The day’s events were kicked of by teenage radio-hit sensation Miranda Cosgrove, the lovely Shotella and punk-pop rocker Kevin Rudolf and his band.

If there was any drawback to SummerJam, it was that the sets were all too short, averaging only 30 minutes each.

But you know what?

That’s OK because it was a great sunny warm day – no rain or scorching sun or oppressive humidity – just lots of great music and lots and lots of love to the performers from all of their fans. What could be better?
