Albany’s Palace Theatre will be hosting a local premiere of the new Angelina Jolie film, “Salt,” which was filmed partially in Albany last summer.
The screening will take place at 8pm on Thursday July 22 – and admission is free. The film opens nationwide the following day, Friday, July 23.
Complimentary tickets for the Albany “Salt” premiere are limited, and will be available beginning at 10am today. Tickets are general admission and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a four-ticket per person limit.
Tickets must be picked up in person at one of these locations:
Albany Heritage Area Visitors Center, 25 Quackenbush Square, Albany
The Palace Theatre Box Office, 19 Clinton Ave., Albany – not open on summer Fridays (?!?)
The City of Albany Office of Special Events, located on the fourth floor of Albany City Hall
“Salt” filmmakers used the Empire State Plaza’s three-level configuration of road ways and ramps, to film an invigorating chase scene, during a two week period in late April/early May, of 2009. In the film, Angelina Jolie plays a CIA agent under suspicion of being a Russian spy.
None of the films’ stars will be present at the Albany premiere, but a professional Angelina Jolie impersonator will be in attendance at the Palace and available for photos.
