The annual Schenectady County SummerNight festival takes over various locations throughout downtown Schenectady on Friday from 5-10pm. Admission is free.

The Scotia-Glenville Pipe Band will march down State Street at 6:45pm. There will be a hypnotist, a championship chess demonstration and lots of kids activities including a sand sculptor, a magician, a clown, a stilt-walking juggler, carnival games and contests, a puppet show, balloon artists and more.

And, of course, there will be lots of music:

SUMMERNIGHT MAIN STAGE
at State & Clinton St.
5pm: The Electric City Horns
7pm: Tommy V and the Works
8:30pm: The Ernie Williams Band

OTHER PERFORMANCES:
5pm: Filming Ohio at the Robb Alley Stage at Proctors
5:30pm: The Bill Dexter Quartet at the Jazz at Jay Stage (Jay & Franklin St.)

And, yes, the festivities will all be capped off with a fireworks display.
