Engelbert Humperdinck, What Was the First Album You Ever Bought?

“Yeah, actually it was a Nat ‘King’ Cole album. I really appreciate his music. When I was very young, I couldn’t really afford to buy records and things like that, so I had to know that I would really, really like anything that I bought.

I suppose my parents could have probably bought records for me, but I wanted to do things for myself. So if I was going to buy something, it had to be something worth spending money on.”

Engelbert Humperdinck steps into the spotlight at Proctors in Schenectady at 8pm on Friday. Tix are $20, $38, $43, $48.
