John Brodeur Gets Animated

You know him from his Open Mic co-hosting stint at Tess’ Lark Tavern. Maybe you know him from the pages of Metroland, where he’s contributing editor, writer, occasional columnist and more. Or perhaps you know him from the 769 bands that he plays/has played in over the years – from the Suggestions to Maggie Mayday, from Five Alpha Beatdown to These Are the Hits and beyond.

However you might know John Brodeur, you know he’s a character. And now he’s a real character. A cartoon character, to be precise.

That’s right Brodeur’s gettin’ all animated in his upcoming music video for the song, “Love and Misery.” Directed and animated by fellow popster Ben Karis-Nix, the video won’t be unveiled online until Monday, March 8, but we can give you a sneak peek:

Meanwhile, Brodeur and Karis-Nix are teaming up for a powerhouse pop double-bill at Tess’ Lark Tavern in Albany on Friday, March 5, where they will officially debut the new video.

And if you can’t make it out to Tess’, check back here at on March 8 to see the entire video online.
