FILM: “Lola” @ UAlbany’s Page Hall, Albany. Director Jacques Demy‘s 1961 interpretation of the classic tale of Lola, the beautiful cabaret singer and the men under her spell. In French with English subtitles; starring Anouk Aimee. 7pm. Free.

MUSIC: The Three Rix @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Three guys named Rick – Rik Palieri (of the Rose Tattoo), Rick Nestler (of the Clearwater Sloop Singers) and Rich Bala (of the Barefoot Boys) – join musical forces for the first time. Who knows what will happen? 8pm. $17.

FILM: “Peoples Pixel Project” @ the Rock Hill Bakehouse Cafe, Glens Falls. An encore presentation of the screening of the award-winners and finalists in the Lake George Arts Project‘s recent short video competition. 7:30pm. $10.

MUSIC: Ernie Williams @ the Van Dyck, Schenectady. Albany’s own Ambassador of the Blues celebrated his 85th birthday earlier this month, but he’s still goin’ strong. With David Malachowski on guitar and Charlie Vatalaro on sax. 7pm. $5.

MUSIC: Street Corner Holler @ the Jonesville Store, Clifton Park. The acoustic blues ‘n’ roots duo of Mark Tolstrup and Dale Haskell get down and funky. 6:30pm.

SPOKEN WORD/MUSIC The Fine Carnival of Hearts and Souls (Facebook) @ The Marketplace Gallery, Albany. A night of music and spoken word with Murrow, Shannon Shoemaker, R.M. Engelhardt, Bruce Richardson, and Josh Turner. 7-10pm. Free (I think.)
