“It was 30 years ago today,
Sergeant Blotto taught the band to play…”

Yes, it really has been three decades since Blotto unleashed their debut record (yup, vinyl) on an unsuspecting public. And in celebration of the anniversary of “Hello! My Name Is Blotto. What’s Yours?,” the band reunited for a sold-out benefit concert to raise funds for public radio station WEXT-FM last Saturday night.

We’re not going to review the show – that would be too weird, even for us – but you can read what Tom Keyser wrote in The Times Union.

In The Daily Gazette, Michael Hochanadel wrote, “Hats off to WEXT for celebrating the past, present and future of Albany rock — and Blotto is arguably all three.”

We did, however, want to share these photographs of the festivities from Martin Benjamin.

I OWN that vinyl, and the other EP, and the LP and the (ready for this) 45, the B-side of which was…”B-side”!
