THEATER: “Hansel and Gretel” @ the Berkshire Museum, Pittsfield, Mass. The Berkshire Theatre Festival presents the children’s gingerbread house classic tale. 11am. $15 (includes museum admission); children $8. Through Saturday.

MUSIC: Ramblin Jug Stompers @ Tess’ Lark Tavern, Albany. Celebrate Presidents’ Day! Celebrate Mardi Gras! Celebrate the day off from work! And dig those crazy ramblin, jug-stompin sounds. 7pm. Free.

BOOKS: Round Lake Library Book Sale @ the former Northway Travel Trailers showroom, 2570 Route 9, Malta (1/8 mile north of the Dunning Street roundabout). They started off the weekend with more than 10,000 books, books-on-tape, videos, CDs, DVDs and more. Today is the final day of the sale – and everything is half price! All proceeds benefit the Round Lake Library. 9am-4pm. Free.

MUSIC: Fairview Avenue @ the Moon & River Cafe, Schenectady. Celebrate the day off with some blazing bluesgrass. Great pickin’ and fine vocal harmonies from this Nippertown quartet, too. 7:30pm. Free.

MUSIC: CJ Chenier & the Red Hot Louisiana Band @ the Iron Horse Music Hall, Northampton, Mass. It’s Mardi Gras time, so let the good times roll with some authentic zydeco sounds. Don’t forget your dancin shoes. 7pm. $15.
