A band needs a special hook – an angle, a niche – if they’re gonna make a buzz these days.

The members of the new Saratoga Springs-based band Probing Digit have plenty of balls – big ones, too – but do they have the music to back it all up?

If you’re gonna brag about yourself, you might as well go all the way. That was obviously Michael Jackson’s philosophy when he started using that self-proclaimed “King of Pop” moniker.

Well, in case you hadn’t heard, Michael Jackson passed away last year – no, really, you didn’t hear? – so now Probing Digit is stepping up to claim the crown as the self-professed “New Kings of Pop.”

Are they kidding?
