FILM: “Pygmalion” @ UAlbany’s Page Hall, Albany: It’s the final event of the New York State Writers Institute’s 2009 season. Starring and co-directed by Leslie Howard, this 1938 British film was adapted from George Bernard Shaw‘s classic play. MUSIC: The Danny Kalb Trio @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs: Guitar great Kalb was a founding member of the pioneering ’60s electric blues bands the Blues Project, as well as key member of the late Dave Van Ronk’s classic Ragtime Jug Stompers. He lands at the legendary Spa City coffeehouse tonight in support of his latest album, “I’m Gonna Live the Life I Sing About.” His brother Jonathan Kalb opens the show. 8pm. $20.
