FILM: “Elevator to the Gallows” @ Time & Space Limited, Hudson: The debut feature film of 24-year-old Louis Malle features the sumptuous beauty of actress Jeanne Moreau, the captivating camerawork of Henri Decae and a now-legendary score by Miles Davis. 7:30pm. $7; students $5. Also 7:30pm Saturday and 5:30pm Sunday.

MUSIC: Tony DeSare @ the Charles Wood Theater, Glens Falls: Jazz singer-pianist DeSare grew up in Glens Falls, so tonight’s concert is the kick-off of a three-day holiday homecoming stand in support of his third album, “Radio Show.” Don’t be surprised if he mixes in New Order’s “Bizarre Love Triangle” along with Gershwin and Berlin. 8pm. $45. Also 8pm Saturday and 2pm Sunday.

ARTS EVENT: Troy Night Out @ various locations, Troy: If you’ve just got to do Black Friday shopping, this is the place to do it. Great art – check out the group show at the Clement Art Gallery and Jaime Suarez’s captivating work at the Martinez Gallery. Great music – don’t miss saxman Keith Pray’s Soul Jazz Revival at Spill’n the Beans and fab folk fiddler George Wilson at Segel Violins. 5-9pm. Free.
