Livingston Taylor, What Was the First Album You Ever Bought?

LivingstonTaylor“The first record album I ever bought…

Well, I don’t know if this is exactly it, but certainly it was one of the earliest ones. I may very well have purchased records before this, but when I was 14 or 15 years old, I bought an album by Dionne Warwick, an album of songs by Burt Bacharach and Hal David because their songs were absolutely destroying me. They were so good.

‘Do you know the way to San Jose? I’ve been away so long, I might go wrong and lose my way…’ They just did some absolutely great writing.”

Livingston Taylor makes a tour stop at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy on Sunday (November 22).
