12 Years Ago Today: Metroland’s Local Music Issue

Metroland’s annual local music issue is out today, and we encourage you to pick up a copy. Any support of the local music scene is certainly very welcome, indeed…

But earlier this week we were cleaning up a back room, and we came across a big ole stack of vintage Metro mags (yes, we’re that kind of hoarders), so we’re throwing down this pop quiz question:

Who was on the cover of the 1997 Metroland local music issue? Hit the comment button below and let us know who you think was the cover boy (or girl).

We’ll announce the answer tomorrow here at Nippertown.com. Stay tuned…

Hmmm. Have the cover guy/gal/band/etc been hit with the Metroland Cover Curse?

  2. Sara says:

Kinda depends on how you look at it.
Still going strong, but not as sharp a trajectory as everyone hoped back then.
    No more clues!

  3. Matt Mac Haffie says:

My guess is John Broduer and the Suggestions, cursed definitely, talented undoubtedly!

  4. AndyG says:

Maybe I’m a lttle early on the timeline, but I’d say the Figgs.
