Real Good for Free: Timber Timbre

Here’s some more free music for ya, but you’d better hurry.

Until 12midnight on Saturday (October 31), you can snag a free download the entire breakthrough, critically acclaimed, self-titled album by Timber Timbre.

A nominee for the 2009 Polaris Music Prize, Timber Timbre has been heralded by the Canadian press since since the album was released this summer on the Arts & Crafts label. After playing at the CMJ Convention earlier this month, the band attracted quite a bit of Big Apple praise, too. Time Out New York wrote that Timber Timbre was “the standout act” describing their set as “powerfully dark, even eerie folk tracks (which) managed to keep the crowd positively awed.” The Village Voice called them a “uniquely creepy beauty.”

So download the album today, and get psyched for their Nippertown debut on Tuesday, November 17, when Timber Timbre takes over Valentine’s Music Hall in Albany.
