Real Good for Free: A Taste of Madison, 10/3/09

A Taste of Madison takes place on Madison Avenue between Allen and West Lawrence streets in the Pine Hills section of Albany. The festival will run from 11am-3pm on Saturday, October 3.

Don’t expect a huge, overcrowded street festival like LarkFest – this is being billed as “a neighborhood celebration” – but there should be some good fun to be had – and some good music, too, from the likes of the Ashley Pond Band, the Red Haired Strangers and others. There will be plenty of other activities throughout the day from bike polo to a scavenger hunt and even a waiters’ race.

It’s all free. Area restaurants will be out in force, as well, and you can purchase a taster’s ticket for just $8 in advance; $10 at the fest.

The event goes on rain or shine.
