It’s Not About The Legs

I first became aware of Aimee Mullins in Matthew Barney’s Cremaster 3 and I was captivated by her regal sense of self as she strutted around in her dual role as woman and cheetah. Flash forward a few years, and she’s giving a talk at TED, in which she reframes her disability as a pretty cool advantage (like, who wouldn’t want to run faster than everyone else, or be able to wear six inch heels?)

Today Show profile on Aimee Mullins
Aimee’s original TED talk from ten years ago, where she talks about her evolution as an athlete.
