Be Here Now: Annea Lockwood @ Catskill Point

Annea Lockwood brought “A Soundmap of the Hudson River” to The Brick Elephant in Valley Falls back in 2007. Now she’s bringing “Sound Mapping: An Evening of Performance, Conversation and Listening” to Catskill Point on the Hudson River on Sunday, July 5 from 6–9pm.

Sound Mapping will feature a live performance from members of the New York Society of Acoustic Ecology (NYSAE), a conversation between artists Alexis Bhagat and Annea Lockwood, and Annea Lockwood’s canonical work “A Sound Map of the Hudson River.” Free admission. Audiences are encouraged to bring picnics. This is a family-friendly event, children are welcome.

Can’t make it? You still have an opportunity to delve deeply into Lockwood’s recordings; in celebration of her 70th birthday, free103point9 Online Radio will broadcast 24 hours of her works on July 29, 2009 from 12midnight–11:59pm.
