The Nippertown concert calendar continues to fill up at a pretty good clip. Here are a few of the new shows that have been announced this week:
The fabulous Felice Brothers are headed into the intimate Club Helsinki in Great Barrington, Mass. on Friday, July 10.
Kate Taylor, Betty & the Baby Boomers as well as the homegrown sounds of Jim Gaudet & the Railroad Boys and Bates & Barr will join forces for the WAMC Folk and Bluegrass Night at The Linda in Albany on Sunday, July 19.
New Orleans parade veterans the Dirty Dozen Brass Band will be funking up the free Albany Jazz Festival at Riverfront Park on Saturday, September 12. Additional acts to be announced at a later date.
Looking to the autumn, The Egg has announced a whole batch of new shows, including Son Volt (Friday, September 18), They Might Be Giants (Friday and Saturday, October 2-3), former centerfielder and jazz guitarist Bernie Williams (Tuesday, October 6), Acoustic Alchemy (Friday, October 16) and the double guitar bill of Jorma Kaukonen and David Bromberg (Saturday, October 24). Looking ahead to next year, The Egg has also booked the Frank Vignola Quintet (Saturday, February 6), pianist Christopher O’Riley (Saturday, March 6), guitarist Sharon Isbin and violinist Mark O’Connor (Saturday, March 13) and the Turtle Island String Quartet with mandolinist Mike Marshall (Sunday, April 11).
Northern Lights in Clifton Park is certainly rocking the autumn season as well, filling up the concert calendar with such choice bookings as Down and the Melvins (Tuesday, September 9), the 25th anniversary tour of Stryper with Flight Patterns (Saturday, September 12) and Children of Bodom with Black Dahlia Murder and Skeleton Witch (Sunday, September 20). Tix for all of those shows go on sale on Saturday, June 27. And, oh yeah, one more – Dinosaur Jr. with Lou Barlow & the Missingmen (Sunday, October 4) with tix slated to go on sale on July 11.
