Be Here Now: “Magic” Man

Big kudos go out to Nippertown acoustic soul sensation Sean Rowe. After banging around for years and wowing listeners with that unmistakable voice of his, Rowe’s new album, “Magic” on Collar City Records, has turned out to be quite aptly titled.

At least he’s getting the opportunity to play his mesmerizing songs in front of larger crowds. Last month, on the evening before the disc was officially released, Rowe found him onstage at the Palace Theatre opening for the Doobie Brothers.

Now Rowe has landed another big-theater concert. In a more appropriate musical match, the “Magic” man will be opening for Boz Scaggs at The Egg at 8pm Monday, June 22.
